Piccolo Press can supply you with blank gilded cards in either silver or gold. These are made in the traditional way (that has not changed for well over 100 years!) on thick boards, mostly imported from Holland. The cards are cut to size and set in a clamp, where they are bevelled and shaped by hand, and then foiled with gold or silver leaf. The result is beautiful hand-crafted cards that bear no resemblance to the factory produced product that is more often merely sprayed with gold ink. The pictures show a clamp being worked on and the tools used. We use boards of 750gsm, 600gsm, 490gsm and 400gsm. A particular favourite, unique to us, is our 600gsm 'Oyster Board' which we believe is the finest board available for diestamping and engraved work.
