WARNING FOR ENGRAVED & LETTERPRESS PRINTING
It is often difficult to create an exact colour match to reference colours that are specifically referenced to lithographic printing. Colour can also vary from paper stock to paper stock, depending upon the colour of the paper, and/or the absorption of the paper. It is also extremely difficult to match a colour to that of a previously printed item and an exact match cannot be guaranteed.

Engraved Wedding Stationery [ .pdf Price List ]

  • These are printed in the traditional manner from copper plates. See below
  • There is no substitute for engraving's combination of fine resolution, definition and richness of image.
  • The hand engravers we use are the best in Britain. (One of our engravers engraves for the Bank of England!)

Thermographic Wedding Stationery [ .pdf Price List ]

  • Thermography is a process that raises the printed text by a heat process.
  • Because no copper plate is needed, this process is considerably cheaper than engraving.
  • Our special matt thermographic process gives a result very close to that of engraving.

Letterpress Wedding Stationery [ .pdf Price List ]

  • By 'debossing' the image into a soft card, a stunning clear tactile effect is produced.
  • Letterpress is growing in popularity in the UK. (It is already very popular in the USA.)
  • Piccolo Press is one of the very few letterpress printers of wedding stationery in the UK and has an extremely experienced staff to carry out this specialist craft work.

order of service

Order of Service Sheets and Flat Printed Items [ Price List ] includes Reply cards - Menus - Thank You Cards - Maps and Directions

  • Order of Service are normally printed on the same card as your invitations (but not necessarily so!) and are size A5 when folded.
  • Increasingly, we are doing other sizes as well. An A4 sheet folded is said to have four pages, whereas a cover and one insert page would have eight pages. Prices depend on the number of pages needed.

Celtic / Clans
We can supply various Celtic engravings and borders, or can print to your individual design. Price will vary according to your specifications. To see samples of Celtic designs and Clan crests - click here.

Plate Sunk Panels:
We can plate sink a panel into any card, using either one of our standard dies or can make a die to your specifications. A plate sunk panel adds real class to an invitation. However, some card does not plate sink as well as others, so please discuss this with us. See examples on diestamped samples album.

Blind Embossing:
Blind embossing is the raising of an image from the surface of the paper without the use of ink. Thus the image is tactile and sculptured. Some extremely pleasing (and understated) effects can be produced by blind embossing and it is particularly successful for monograms and motifs. Unless you use one of our in-house dies there will be a charge for making a custom die for this process. See examples on diestamped samples album.
