Letterpress Wedding Invitations
Letterpress invitations are best printed on a card with a softer surface to the harder ivory cards that are better for thermography and diestamping. We strongly recommend the “Colorplan” range, made by GD Smith of Hull. This card comes in 700gsm and 540gsm weights and both are suitable for double sided letterpress, if required.
Colorplan card is available in large number of colours (Download available colours HERE.) Two different colours can be ‘duplexed’ together, to give a coloured backing to your invitation. (There is a small extra charge for this)
Another card we like for letterpress is “Somerset” a 300gsm 100% cotton card ‘mouldmade’ in Wells, England. This is probably the best card in the world for letterpress, but is not quite as thick as ‘Colorplan’. Somerset card also blind embosses quite beautifully.
The beauty of letterpress is tactile and visual and will be a joy for us to print and for you and your guests to receive!
